“My Dream Holiday”

My dream holiday is going to Spain. I choose Spain because it is the world's 51st-largest country at 504,782 km². The most attractive place in Spain which attracts me is Barcelona. Barcelona, located at the Mediterranean Sea in the very north of the Spanish coast. It is a historical place and there are many structures and buildings that have historical background. It is a place for me to explore and experience. In Barcelona, there are monuments of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance periods or still before, but most characteristic is that it has been built during the last, 100 years.

In Barcelona, the place that I most wan to visit will be the Sagrada Familia because the building is in the centre of Barcelona, and over the years it has become one of the most universal signs of identity of the city and the country. It is an expiatory church and Gaudí himself said: "The expiatory church of La Sagrada Família is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." Today, I visit the stomp website http://www.stomp.com.sg/. And discussed what Citizen Journalism is. It was a interesting topic because at first I thought citizen journalism is about writer writing journal but It is not!!

We discussed what is Citizen Journalism

Blog [and Twitter]

No, I don’t think that the invisible web is more effective than search engines because in invisible web, although we can find many relevant and precise information but we need to log in and some are not free whereas, using search engines, we can download the information and we do not need to log in or create an account. Therefore, I think the search engine is more effective.

Yes, I will use invisible web because I can retrieve detail information for my other research like the http://spark.tp.edu.sg/.

Include Site Feeds into personal Blogs and Blog Reflections

To be frank I do not like to blog and telling everyone my thoughts. I felt no privacy hence I would rather tell my friend how I feel than write on the blog. However, I don’t mind when using it for assignment. There are benefits when I used different search facilities to search resources related to my topic. And I can have different opinion from the public and even my friends. They can comment on my research so that I can change to make it better. Using the site feeds on my blog allows me to link to other resources that are related to my research. And it will be good that I can have people doing the same topic or related to come together to share their thoughts.

Reflection on activity 3

Yes, I’m impressed by Google’s search function because I can have many searches from the Google itself and other search engines like mamma and Yahoo! Directory.

From Google search, I will have a direct information and chart or statistic and discussion forum. It is a general search and I will have overloading of information of 183,000 from relevant to irrelevant. And some of them are overlapping too. However, when I used another search engines like mamma.com, the search amount is reduced to 65. It is a easier search engine and it shows where the information is from which search engines.

I feel interesting and excited to participate in discussion forum and it is useful in my research because I will have information from different professional from different aspect and even from public. In discussion forum is different from blogging and twitter because u will get answers from the public whereas, in blog and twitter, the reply are your friends. I don’t always tweet about my experience because I like to write on the blog or my diary.

Reflection on activity 2:

Today, I have blog shopping. It was fun buying clothes, bags and shoes online. I find that online shopping is more convenience than going to the shop to find the items that I want to buy. Online shopping, I can have a wide range of choices to choose from. From branded stuff to discount items. All at on stop and by a click. I will have as many information as possible. I can also prevent the crowded place and squeezing with people in choosing the item. Moreover, if I go online shopping, I can prevent eye contact with the person which I find it better. As I once went into a branded shop and the staff looks down on me because of my dressing which I find it ridiculers, how can you judge a person by its cover? Therefore, I prefer online shopping than going to the place.

There are also wide varieties like the country the item is from which I can choose from.

It is efficient as they will deliver to my door step. Hence, online shopping is a better choice.

First item: bag

I bought this bag because it has many function. There are different ways that I can bring out this bag’s character just buy changing the type of clothes that I am wearing for the day and I will have a different look and feel.

Second item: bag

This bag I bought it because I can bring it around it a casual bag. It is small therefore it’s convenience to bring it around compared to the previous one. Its different compartment allows me to put many things inside the bag.

Third item: Dress

I bought this dress because the color is bright so that when I wear it on, I will look cheerful and be the limelight of the day.

Fourth item: Jacket

I want to buy this jacket because there is fur and it can keep me warm. The color makes the person look smart.

Fifth item: Shirt

This shirt is flowery and it has a sweet look. It’s a bubble shirt whereby, it can cover my stomach when I am going for a buffet. Therefore, I think that it is useful.

Sixth item: ring from Tiffany and Co.

I choose this ring because it’s design is simple and plain but the shape of the ring is unqine that it is square which I find that it is comfortable when wearing it.

I bought the boots because the texture gives a feeling of retro. Then the boots is flats so it is comfortable to wear. By doing this practical, I know that I have to be specific in the information that I am looking for. For example, I cannot just type ‘impact of alcoholism on women,’ but ‘

In this way, I can find more relevant articles and information related to my research.

I can also have information from blogs, discussion forum, electronic like magazines, journal or news and many others. This way it broadens my research areas.
